We are not sure how long the Petersen family lived in this house. However, this photo was taken in 1893 and Otto Petersen was born here in 1861, his parents living there at the time.

Roholte Church as seen from the house

The Latin inscription painted on the tower-arch tells that the church was built by the King, Kristoffer of Bayern, and was finished in 1441. The Sacristy and tower date back to about 1500.

Roholte Church is where the family has been christened, confirmed, married and buried since 1716, maybe even earlier.

Unfortunately, there are no family gravestones. The old gravestones were not kept for prosperity and all you can see today is stones that has been set within the last fifty years or so.
