Afton Louise Nielsen Koplin
Our loving mother, Afton Louise Nielsen Koplin, passed away June 15, 2002.
She was born in Salt Lake City, UT to Waldamer and Jeanette Wilson Nielsen June 17, 1920. She married William H. Koplin Sept 8, 1941 in Salt Lake City, who preceded her in death Oct 18, 1977. Mom was a homemaker all her life, and her biggest joy was having a baby on her lap and being with her family. She enjoyed embroidery work and gave her beautiful works to her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the LDS church.
She can rest in peace with her loving father, whom she so loved, our father, and one of her three silver pennies, our angel sister, Linda Koplin Therkelsen. She is survived by her children, Gayla (Bob) Hanford, Joyce Phillips, Lowell (LaDawn) Koplin, Karen Sympson, Mary Ruttenbur, Colleen (Merrill) Johnson, Gloria (Ed) Clark, Phillips, NB, Terri Severns; three step-children, DuWayne Koplin, Glen Koplin, Nancy Koplin; three sisters, Jolene Askew, Georgia Fagg, Donna Bird; 26 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild, whom she loved dearly.
We would like to give Federal Heights Rehab a special thanks for the love and care that they have provided her, especially Tammy and Rose.
A viewing will be Mon. June 17, 6-8 p.m., Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, and at her request, a private family graveside service will be Tues. June 18, Salt Lake City Cemetery
