Beverly Dorothea Nielsen Brinton, age 88, died August 13, 2001.

Beverly was born May 15, 1913, in a house where the Villa Theater now stands, to Hannah Elizabeth Christensen and Clarence Severin Nielsen. The family moved to Preston, ID., where she spent many of her formative years. The family re-turned to Salt Lake. She graduated from LDS High School and the University of Utah.

Beverly married William Barr Brinton, October 12, 1938. Later their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple and they were sealed to their six children. Beverly taught school many years, beginning in Kanarraville, which she always cherished. Later teaching at Pioneer Craft house, West Kearns Elementary, and Mill Creek Elementary; she concluded at Columbus Community Center working with special needs people. Barr and Beverly retired to Montpelier, Idaho and enjoyed their greenhouse. An exceptional teacher not only with students, but anyone she came in contact with. She taught the things she loved; gardening, ceramics, art, and family history. Barr and Beverly have left a great legacy for their children and grandchildren.

Beverly is survived by daughters, Shawna and Annette Brinton, Midvale; and Cathy (Carl) Nelson, Enoch, UT; daughter-in-law, Kathy Brinton, Riverdale, UT; sons, Bill Brinton, Midvale; Hammond (NaDean) Brinton, Enoch, Utah; "adopted daughter," Rosemary (Leland) Carter, Pleasant Grove, UT, Holladay, UT; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Debra Bean, Salt Lake City, UT; Vaudis (Marvin) Riehl, Vacaville, CA.; and Clothiel Butte, Salt Lake City, UT; sisters-in-law, Doris (Norman) Hall, Salt Lake City; and Irene (Reed) Walker. Preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Wendell Nielsen; daughter, Sharon Brinton; grandson, Jason Brinton; and "adopted son" Sam Pasquali.

Funeral services to be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2001 at the Union Fort 2nd Ward, 540 E. 7200 So. Friends and family may call Thursday evening, 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and Friday 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
